A Zombie Podcast?

Long before the boob tube became the primary source of family entertainment the radio was king. Parents and children would gather around the radio and listen to serial audio dramas or short stories. Using actors and sound effects these popular shows usually gathered a large following. Basically they were the "Breaking Bad" or "Game of Thrones" of their times. My point is that the serial audio drama is coming back, in podcast form.

The best one out there right now is called "We're Alive: A 'Zombie' Story of Survival" or "We're Alive" for short. The plot is based up a zombie like disease which spreads quickly through Los Angeles onto the rest of the world. It begins by following 3 reserve soldiers who are called to duty because of the outbreak. From there the story develops characters and very detailed events. The dialogue is actually pretty good and so is the acting.

I was a skeptic at first because I have seen, read, or heard almost every generic zombie story out there. These zombies are different in so many awesome ways that they alone make this podcast the best zombie story I've ever heard. It took me 2 parts of the first chapter to become hooked!

It can be found on itunes for free and at least give it two chapters before you decide you hate it, but if you're a fan of good storytelling and violence then you'll probably enjoy it.

I'm not affiliated with the show. I've been a huge fan of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast and the forums so that's how I ended up here. This is my first post so I thought introducing something new and different to the site would be cool.

If you end up hating me because the podcast sucks.....deal with it.
